Gazprom, partners prepare to invest in gas pipeline to South Korea
VLADIVOSTOK, Sep 11 (PRIME) -- Russian gas giant Gazprom and its partners are preparing for the pre-investment feasibility study stage of construction of a gas pipeline to South Korea through North Korea, Deputy CEO Alexander Medvedev said at the Eastern Economic Forum on Tuesday.
“The idea of a gas pipeline from Russia though North Korea to South Korea is not new… but a lack of necessary political prerequisites prevented the project from implementation. Now there are some signs of a better political situation,” he said.
“We are keeping in touch with our South Korean and North Korean colleagues, and are preparing to enter a very important stage which is a stage of pre-investment feasibility study.”
